Will an acoustic underlay definitely pass my building’s by-law?
No underlay can be guaranteed to pass on paper. Ratings come from laboratory tests on a specific slab and build-up, and older Cremorne blocks in particular vary enormously in slab thickness and ceiling treatment below. A high lab rating is a strong indicator, but only on-site testing after installation confirms real performance. Anyone promising a guaranteed pass before installation is overstating what they can know.
